For its debut participation in Design Miami.Paris, held from October 21–26, Yves Salomon Editions presents a new venture dedicated to collectible design, unveiling an exclusive selection of exceptional vintage furniture.
These pieces embody the Maison’s passion for design. Some have been revisited and customized in its workshops using signature materials — including upcycled leather, upcycled fur, or shearling — while others are presented in their original form. The collection reflects the daily inspirations of Yves Salomon Editions and expresses the creative universe that fuels the Maison.
The project is staged in the singular setting of the Hôtel de Maisons, also known as Hôtel Pozzo di Borgo, within Karl Lagerfeld’s former bathroom — a space never before open to the public. In this neoclassical setting framed by arches, vintage furniture enters into dialogue with contemporary creations, notably those designed by artist Pierre Marie.
Shearling intarsia with enchanting patterns, geometric foliage, floral corollas, and swirling ribbons converse with 20th-century design icons: a postmodern totem, Art Deco seating, and Liberty-style works.
Architectural lines and eclectic aesthetics resonate with Pierre Marie’s dreamlike creations and the classical rigor of the venue, generating a dynamic interplay of poetry and graphic rhythm.
With this new initiative, Yves Salomon Editions expands its creative landscape. Alongside its editions of furniture, objects, and accessories developed in collaboration with designers, decorators, and artists, the Maison presents vintage design pieces elevated by its artisanal savoir-faire, and brings into dialogue rare works preserved as precious testaments to design history — fostering an exchange between tradition and contemporary vision.
