An American Private Room
Kentucky, Paris
On the occasion of Milan Design Week, Yves Salomon ÉDITIONS and Michael Bargo present a collection where American quilt traditions are reimagined through the precision of French craftsmanship.
From Frank Lloyd Wright to Paul Frankl and Eero Saarinen, iconic forms are revisited through texture and tactility, where modernist rigor meets material softness.
Drawing from The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s archive, Bargo explores flower-basket motifs, geometric patchworks, and the “crazy quilt”: a language of asymmetry, layering, and collective making. A tradition that transforms memory into form.
At Casa Mascagni, the collection unfolds within a fictional interior - part autobiography, part imagined lineage. A space not only to observe, but to inhabit.
“A quilt is made of many pieces - held together by a common thread.”
Here, that thread becomes craft.
